At Diakonia, we not only teach people to fish, we invest in people by allowing them to build their businesses and “buy the fishing rods!”.
Through the repayment of the thousands of investment loans we provide, we can sustainably continue to provide that opportunity again and again.
Our vision of God’s size is just beginning, and we believe, He will continue to expand His goodness over Paraguay.

Diaconía was founded in 2011 to address the unmet needs of families living in settlements in the city of Asunción and its surrounding areas.
Now, we have a bolder goal: for every person in Paraguay living in poverty to understand the meaning of God’s love, restore their dignity, and find hope for a better future.
Every day, we provide families with tools to break the cycle of generational poverty and gender inequality.
We believe that every person has the potential to overcome obstacles and poverty and lead a flourishing life with the hope and dignity that God generously offers.
Since our beginnings, we have worked with this conviction, and the results over the years have encouraged us to keep moving forward. We continue to share the good news of God’s love and promote peace, justice, and solidarity through both words and deeds. In the past year, we achieved:
